Let the spinning begin!
(I know my garden would be prettier if I mulched it, but I'm so tired of hauling large gardening supplies in my little car!)
Stony Mountain Fiber merino, on a Kromski bobbin. Happily modeled by a snapdragon. I hope to combine this fiber with these two I spun a while back, and make a nice big wrap:
I will spare everyone more pictures of my garden, but I do want some assistance -- what the heck is this? It looks like the top of a carrot, but I swear I've never planted carrots, and it's not like they grow from dropped pieces of carrot. What is it? I don't want to pull it up if it's a vegetable!

ReplyDeleteIt certainly looks like a carrot top. You can't really go wrong letting it be for a few weeks and see what it turns into. If it gets to be 3 ft tall you'll know it's not a carrot! LOL I truly love that first fiber. It looks quite shiny on the spindle. Nice collection of fibers for sure. I'll look forward to seeing your finished anklet. Happy Fiber Arts Friday!
ReplyDeleteYour garden is looking lovely especially with all that beautiful fiber and spinning involved. My flowers beds are now weeds. I just don't have the desire to weed or take care of them anymore...I'd rather scoop Alpaca poo.
ReplyDeleteI think your garden is lovely. A nice place to sit and spin, knit or enjoy an iced cold beverage. As for the mysery plant I'd let it go for a ccouple of weeks,
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures. The plant might be Queen Anne's Lace, which is in the carrot family (also called wild carrot). You can Google search for pictures to compare it to. Wait and watch and see :)
