It's 100 Degrees, Think I'll Knit a Sweater

Seriously ... What was I thinking?

I haven't knit much on it since last week, so here is a little Cable Pr0n to distract from the lack of length ....

Ooooooh, sexy!

I even made it a larger picture ... so it would look bigger.

Crap. I see an error in a cable.

I guess I was a little overcome by all the cables, and the 250+ stitches, and longed for something simpler. So I started another WIP.

From 60 Quick Knits (Cascade 220), the Smocked Fingerless Mitts.

I haven't made much progress, but there is really no hurry for a pair of wooly fingerless mitts in Baltimore anytime soon.

This is Kool-Aid yarn I dyed a few years ago, in Black Cherry. I get to pick out buttons for them, and I might have mentioned before how much I like picking out buttons. Especially if they are not functional ... no worrying about buttonholes!

And that is it from the Spinster zone. I haven't been keeping up with the Tour de Fleece this year, but I think it's over now ... I really hope all you spinners had a good time with it, and found ways to challenge and amaze yourselves! I might have joined in if I could have found my $*&#( trindle, which is still MIA.

Don't forget to stop by the fabulous Wonder Why Farm for Fiber Arts Friday! As always, thanks for hosting us, Andrea!

My Bone, Dammit!

  1. Are you nuts????? It is hot out!!!! LOL Can't wait to see your mitts finished and your sweater!

  2. I laughed when I saw the title of your post!! Gorgeous cables.

  3. haha!

I don't think I'd have the patience for those cables right now.
I love those fingerless mitts though.

I was going to spin my hankie that you gave me for the challenge day of TdF and I couldn't find it anywhere. It was in my weaving bag. Argh! I forgot I took it to show and tell so...I still need to spin it.

Tour de Fleece was a blast this year.

  4. I feel you on the knitting in the heat. Ugh. I've been working on this shawl and while it is light and airy it's still wool...although the past couple days, since they fixed the a/c at work, the motivation to finish it has picked up. Now I just have to hope I don't run out of yarn. I love those cables and don't you dare point out to anyone where your mistake is.

  5. I can't see anything wrong with your cables, maybe you can pretend it's a design feature? ;-)

  6. I was definitely distracted by all those cables!! They are gorgeous! Love how the mits are coming along - they will be so pretty when done.

  7. Ooh, pretty cables! And fyi.... I looked and *don't* see an error in your cable. :) 100 degrees here, too and I'm about to knit a blanket. Thank God for air conditioning, eh?

  8. I have to agree, knitting and 100F do not go well together.

  9. Cables, cables, big cables, small cables, they are all nice!

I would love to hear from you!
