Pardon my Absence...

...But I had to find a warm place where the sun was shining.

On a San Diego beach.

My friend S. and I signed up for the Run Like a Diva half marathon in Temecula, California. It was the perfect winter break--we left between winter storms in Baltimore. It was hard coming back to the sludge and slush, but it was wonderful getting away!

This half marathon was hosted and sponsored by one of the many wineries in the area. And since it was a Diva, we got tutus to run in and at mile 13, before the finish line, we were handed boas and tiaras for the finish line photos.

The race package came with a free wine tasting at the vineyard. I can't remember the name of this vineyard, unfortunately.

Race morning. So cold! But it warmed up pretty quickly.

Six miles on this loose dirt road ... a little challenging.

It was so nice to get away. We went hiking in the hills...

Met some friendly wildlife...

Saw some historic buildings ....

And just had a good time in general. I came back to Baltimore, scraped the ice off my car, and affixed another 13.1 sticker to my back window.

It's supposed to snow 6 - 10" starting early in the morning, so my return to work might be delayed.

So I didn't get much knitting done.

  1. Looks like you had a great time! Just wish we could get some snow that everyone else is getting, we need water :-(

  2. Looks like a fun race. And great wine tasting!

  3. Looked like a great get away from your snow. Lovely tutus.

  4. Thank you for sharing the pics! What a fun event and may I say, YOU LOOK MARVELOUS! I remember when you first started running and getting into shape and now look.

  5. Love the tutu pics! How fun! You were lucky to have gotten away from this awful weather we have had this winter. But on the bright side, Spring is finally here.

I would love to hear from you!
