Another Boring Baby Blanket Blog

Wow, nine squares done ... I'm blazing right along! I have no idea how many more I need to make. All I know is I don't have enough of these colors of yarn, so I'm going to be raiding my stash for what Cascade remnants I might have. It might be a hodgepodge of mismatched colors when I'm done!

My knitting mojo has all but vanished. I don't know where it went, but it's been gone for about a month now. If anyone sees it, please send it back to me. I have way too much stash to be lacking in knitting mojo.

Other fiber-related news ... look what I got from snapfish!

Isn't that neat? I'm going to take it to work so my co-workers can really, truly understand ... just how odd I am.

I also got a calendar, but I forgot to take pictures of it before taking it to work. It's a prop-up desk calendar, with my selected photos on each page (each monthly page). I know this sort of thing is common, but to me it's amazing technology! My photos, on a calendar? A coffee mug? Wow!

Another neat thing that came to me in the mail ... black velvet elephant ears!

They came already sprouted, and I stupidly planted them. Now I'll have to bring them in the house or erect a shelter for them, if it gets back down to freezing. But I couldn't resist. They're supposed to be cold-hardy. And, 6 feet tall. Whoo hoo!

I guess a project isn't a project unless a cat has walked across it.

Don't forget to stop by Andrea's for more Fiber Arts Friday Fabulousness!

With the weather turning nicer... there's just so many other things to do. ;-)

    Happy Spring!

  2. I love your snapfish creations. I have made mugs and calendars for gifts from them and I'm always pleased to see them turn out so nice.
Lovin' the squares. I have some peachy orange colored cascade that I bought on clearance in a 10 pack. Using it for my sweater but will have a bunch leftover. Do you want me to mail you a skein of each color so you'll have more variety.

  3. I wonder if all of us have spring fever? I think lots of people have lost their mojo, and maybe it is because we are outside worshipping the sun. Or is that just me? I love your mug--you go on and share your crazy, because I for one LOVE IT!! Your baby blanket is looking nice too!

    1. I ordered the elephant ears from parkseeds.com. They didn't come as bulbs or corms, though, they came already sprouted! I was quite surprised. I'm used to having to baby corms along to get them going, which isn't till June or so around here. Can't wait till they get big!

  5. You have one of those cats too? They must think they are quality control or something. LOL! Your squares are looking fantastic and I'll shoot some of my knitting mojo your way.

I love the black velvet elephant ear too! How cool is that? I wish I could reach through the monitor and touch those velvety leaves. :)

  7. I blame this amazing weather for the recent lack of interest in fiber projects that many of us are experiencing. :)
I hope that your mojo will come rushing back like a tidal wave soon!! XXO-

  8. Great mug... and yes the weather has something to do with the lack of wanting to knit (crochet in my case). I've been planting like a mad woman here... well just rearranging my shrubs. Busy, busy, busy!

  10. I'm sorry about your missing mojo. I find that if I spend a few days or even weeks working on some other kind of project I begin to miss knitting. Might be worth a try if there's something else you enjoy doing. Maybe even reading a good book would help. Good luck.
