Finished Object Friday!

The blue cardigan is officially finished!

Alas, I am really not good at taking pictures. A flash in a dim hallway facing a mirror? What could possibly go wrong? (Crikey, I had no idea those pants were so baggy)

(What do I do with my arms?! I don't know how to pose!)

I do have a "screaming button" problem ... which is not unusual in women who are built rather large on top. I'm not sure how to fix it (the gapping in the buttons).

What do you all suggest?

Don't forget to drop by TamisAmis on Friday for Finished Object Friday!

  1. I have the same problem, so I'll be watching your answer. The sweater is pretty. Your furry friends are lovely.

  2. The cardigan looks good! And baggy pants are a good thing. I think you need more buttons regardless of the pattern requirements. I know you've already done the button band, but it's something to keep in mind next time. Good job!

  3. I LOVE how it turned out! It really is gorgeous and the cables are sassy. Could you add one more button? Even with store bought sweaters, I tend to fiddle with an extra button just below the bust to "hold the girls in"

  4. Your cardigan is so lovely!! I wish I could help, but I am not well endowed in "on top". I do like the idea of others to add another button however.

  5. Hand on hip or behind the neck/head is one of the standard poses, and it usually shows off a sweater very well. I have the button problem too, sometimes I sew my sweater shut and wear it as a pullover. I think the real cure is having enough positive ease, ie, make the cardigan bigger.

  6. You can add hooks/eyes, but I'm lazy and sometimes just use a couple of well-placed safety pins.
For posing, how about the Heizman for a change of pace. no? (I'm usually showing off socks)

  7. Hahaha, Screaming button. I've not heard that before, but I like it, and I may borrow the phrase; though personally, I don't have the big on top problem :-(

The cardigan looks really great! I love the construction!

  8. Great cardigan!

I'd be tempted to sew some sort of press studs between the buttons so they act as support to the buttons in closing it.

  9. That cardigan is perfect for you! It looks gorgeous, congrats! I'm not sure what I could recommend that other people already haven't, but I can at least tell you that you aren't the only one, I've definitely had that problem before too.

  10. The sweater looks great! I agree with everyone on the extra buttons thing.

I do think the Heisman pose would be fantastic. :-)
